Know where SECC sits in the city

SECC’s official address is 799 Nguyen Van Linh, Tan My Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. The venue is in the Phu My Hung area, south of the historic central districts. A hotel described as “central Ho Chi Minh City” may therefore create a longer morning journey than the map initially suggests.

Choose between staying close to SECC and staying closer to central meetings. If most of the trip is inside the exhibition, a walkable or short-drive hotel near the venue reduces uncertainty. If client meetings dominate the evenings, compare the complete door-to-door pattern before booking.

Use current-edition event facts, not an old calendar

Several verified 2026 events are scheduled at SECC in the weeks ahead. Vietnam Medi-Pharm Expo and the Vietnam International Logistics Exhibition list 30 July to 1 August 2026. Vietfood & Beverage – ProPack lists 6 to 8 August, Vietfish lists 19 to 21 August, and Vietnam PrintPack lists 16 to 19 September.

Those dates come from current official organiser pages checked for this guide. They do not confirm admission, programme access or every hall assignment. Open the organiser’s current registration and visitor pages before travel because a venue calendar alone is not a badge confirmation.

Allow a realistic airport and road buffer

SECC’s official access page describes an estimated journey of about 45 minutes from Tan Son Nhat International Airport and about 20 minutes from the city centre. These are venue estimates, not guarantees. Ho Chi Minh City traffic, rain, road works and peak arrival periods can extend the trip.

Do not schedule a fixed exhibition meeting immediately after landing. Allow for immigration, baggage, connectivity, transport pickup and hotel check-in. On departure day, use the current traffic situation rather than reusing the travel time from arrival.

Build the exhibition day around halls and meeting points

A contact who says “meet at SECC” has not yet given a usable meeting point. Specify the hall, booth, lobby, registration zone or named entrance. If the event releases a floor plan, download it before arrival and mark fixed meetings first.

SECC can host concurrent exhibitions. Confirm the event branding at the registration counter and check whether one badge covers co-located areas. Do not assume access merely because the shows share dates and venue.

Prepare for heat, rain and indoor air-conditioning

Plan for a warm outdoor environment, possible rain and a cooler exhibition hall. Comfortable business shoes, a compact umbrella or rain layer, and a light indoor layer are practical. Keep paper material protected and carry a power bank for QR codes, maps and meeting notes.

For important conversations, avoid depending on venue Wi-Fi alone. Save confirmations and contact numbers offline, and agree on a fallback meeting location if messaging becomes unreliable.

Check Vietnam immigration through the official system

Vietnam’s official e-Visa service is operated by the Immigration Department under the Ministry of Public Security. Visa requirements depend on nationality, travel document and purpose. Use the official site to determine whether an e-Visa is required and to submit an application when applicable.

Do not treat an event invitation, paid pass or exhibitor confirmation as immigration permission. Check the passport details used in the application, permitted entry point and validity before finalising flights. Save the result and the event registration as separate documents.
